The Beast of Bancroft by Bill Schweigart

The Beast of Bancroft by Bill Schweigart was received direct from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. The horror novel describes Northern Virginia suburb living. Even the Home Owners Association mentality is very briefly mentioned. The author does not mention the revenue generating shenanigans of the local governments though, they would have made mad money off the neighbor. The story itself is interesting and at times is a bit slow to me. Yes, the book is based upon a true Beast of Barcroft from the 1974 era, though there are going to be no spoilers from me about the fictional creature written about in this book. If you like the Northern Virginia area, or creature horror or this author from past books, or you know someone who likes any or all of these and needs a gift, certainly purchase this book for them.
