The Rising; Deliverance, by Brian Keene

The Rising; Deliverance, by Brian Keene was received from the publisher in exchange for this review. This novella, with two short stories by Mr Keene, in the back, was a breath of fresh air. By that, I mean it took me back to the olden days when this author was "on his game." Keenes character development was second top none back on the early days, each and every good guy in his novels you felt like you knew. That has not really been the case recently. Anyway, as others have stated, this novella is a prequel that happens just before the good Reverend and Jim from Keene's breakout zombie/demon novel The Rising occurs. We are talking within a day or two. I will not go into plot much but the novella reads rather quickly and does not bog down. It has two bonus short stories in it that further go along with the Ob/13 mythos. If you like Keene, zombies or demons (but not really so much demons), this is a novella for you. I am not sure when it is coming out again but I would watch for it. 5 Stars.
