Within, by Keith Deininger

Within, by Keith Deininger, was received from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Within, to me, is a hard book to review but here goes. As always with my reviews, you will not get a rehash of the plot, you can find that before you get to my review. One reviewer stated he wondered was the book a dream, my thoughts as I read the book was, were all of the character part of the mural that being painted in the basement? Anyway, there were many characters, many short chapters, which I generally like for easier reading, but in this book all of the characters and changing from person to person made the book hard for me to keep track of what exactly was going on. I like this author and will continue to read him (I actually have a novella of his in my queue to read soonest). Maybe if I read it straight through I would have “gotten” it better but I read on my way to and from work while riding the train.

3 Stars.
