Eeny Meeny by M.J Arlidge

Eeny Meeny by M.J Arlidge was received from the publisher in exchange for this review. I really wanted to like this novel and parts of it I did enjoy. The beginning set u, “trapped in pool with a SAW (the movie), like telephone call to kill the other trapped person,” while familiar to me at least kept me interested. The novel then kind of veered off into way to much dialogue, causing me to skim as the investigation unfolded. I thought to myself, “self, this novel was written like a television police drama,” and then noticed it exactly was written like that as that is the authors day job. For me, the novel was too slow and needed more killing to keep me thoroughly enthralled. For others, such as those who enjoy television police dramas or “lengthy murder mysteries,” certainly pick up this novel or buy it for a gift. It does have a “sudden” ending, be advised, that comes out of left field.
