Bootleg Cove by Devon Govaere

Bootleg Cove by Devon Govaere was received direct from the publisher in exchange for this review. Sometimes I don’t want to disclose that because I did not particularly like the book or novella. This ws the case with this novella which was a short read but never, in its 85 pages, did it “grab” me enough that I cared what happened to anyone in it. While the novella was a ghost story, it was not particularly a scary ghost story. That is not saying all ghost stories should be Beetle Juice as opposed to Casper. Anyway, I am not understanding of the 5 star reviews and the twist ending other reviewers talk about is not really a twist if you see it coming the proverbial “mile away.” Anyway the novella gets three stars from me. 3 stars
