Born on the Bayou (AKA COONASS: A Memoir) by Blaine Lourd

Born on the Bayou (AKA COONASS: A Memoir) by Blaine Lourd, was received direct from the publisher in exchange for this review. The book was well written and “easy going.” I never got bored reading it and it was a 1970-1980 southern state, oil boom (WHAT? Something good did happen out of the CARTER era?), coming of age story with a strong hint of a boys undying love for his father, no matter what the circumstances. For those from the south, you will read things you may be intimately familiar with, for those not, I am sorry, but you will learn some things as you read this book. Highly recommended for any and all who like light hearted coming of age stories.
