Pentacle by William Meikle
Pentacle by William Meikle, was received direct from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I must admit right up front, William Meikle is one of my favorite current authors and Pentacle did not change that in the least. Pentacle, to me, was a new take onthe classic haunted house tale. I will not go into detail about the novella but I kept expecting a "Hellraiser" type creature to appear out of the woodwork. A current resident of the house try's to learn from others' mistakes in order to cleanse the house. Meikle even used the word "shamming," which I had never heard outside of military channels, where-in it meant someone being lazy when there was work to be done. The novella introduces the topics of not messing with another mans stuff and if if it's not broke don't fix it, two lessons that should have been learned by all while they were very yoquick, non boring read and love haunted houses and/or William Meikle and want to sham for an hour or so, this is the novella for you.
