Horror 201: The Silver Scream

Horror 201: The Silver Scream by numerous writers who cover the horror movie realm pretty convincingly, edited by Joe Mynhardt and Emma Audsley, was received by this writer direct from the publisher in exchange for reasons not related to this review. The book was not as I expected, as Horror 101 was very in depth on the writing process, Horror 201 was more a overview of the movie making process. This generalization on my part may be because I am somewhat involved with this process so those who are not may be more enthralled. I am NOT saying this was a bad book in any way shape or form. The story authors and interviewees alone make it worth the paltry sum a person pays for it. If you, or someone you know is interested in the horror movie business or, pulled direct from the book description: are looking to delve into screenplay writing, want to write their first screenplay, like to follow the careers of their favorite directors, are planning on infiltrating a different field in horror writing, are looking to pay more bills with their art, are trying to establish a name brand, are looking to get published, are looking for motivation and/or inspiration or are seeking contacts in the film industry, this is a book to buy.
