Super Sushi Ramen Express by Michael Booth was received direct from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Who would have thought to red a food based, family adventure through Japan? Certainly not me last month, that is for sure. While I have been to Japan, several times, I lived in Korea for several years, so " I can relate" to these writings. That being said, the author tends to focus on aspects of Japanese food culture on the higher end. Meaning a normal person and their family and friends may experience one of these meals in a month while in the island nation. I wonder what does the common Japanese person eat while working ungodly hours? I am imagining them stuffing themselves with ramen type noodles. You won't learn that here. Overall I enjoyed the book much more than I expected, due to the authors very interesting writing style. If you are interested in Japan and/or their food definitely give this book a read.
