Unusual stories from history that are not read about in history books always piques my interest. That being said, in the modern era, a person may have to judge which way the authors political winds shift. This book avoids politics and tells mostly amusing anecdotes along the lines of the old school Ripleys Believe it or Not, for those who remember that. It tells tales mostly about individuals instead of events. 3 stars
