Scars of Independence: America's Violent Birth by Holger Hoock
Scars of Independence: America's Violent Birth by Holger Hoock was received direct from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. American history, there is what really happened which may be violent, bloody and politically incorrect and then the modern history book version of what the progressives want us to believe happened. This book seems to be written by an author who is uncertain that American violence was not part of what made us who we are, the greatest country there is. To get back on reviewing track though, many of us have heard versions of many of the historical stories presented here, just in a different light. The author presents American Revolution era history in matter of fact, non biased story lines that impressed me as during the introduction to the book I was worried the info would be slanted. If you want to know some atrocities that really happened, by both sides, during this era, you cant go wrong with this lengthy book. 5 Stars
