Thresher by Michael Cole was received direct from the publisher. This is the time for shark books, movies and television shows. Some will stand out, most will quickly fall to the wayside. Thresher will rise to the top for several reasons, good writing that doesnt bog down in self importance and the fact that fewer people are reading. Shark stories play well with “science stories” in that scientists try to make sharks larger and/or smarter and then, for whatever reason the shark escapes and wreaks havoc with a small portion of mankind. If you, or someone you buy gifts for like this kind of book, certainly give this one a read. 4 stars
