After Midnight, by Allan Leverone
After Midnight, by Allan Leverone, was received from the publisher in exchange for this honest review. As I started reading After Midnight, I started getting "familiar" flashes. I then researched a bit and saw I had read another book by the same author about the same people in 2013, that was not that memorable to me (obviously). Here is the old review: Mr Midnight is not a bad book, but unlike most of the other reviewers, I was not that impressed with it. I found myself skimming because the conversation/lack of action was getting to monotonous for me... Mr Midnight still gets three stars from me, which is 60%, a passing grade when I went to school. If possible I would have given it a 3.25 score. Maybe whenever the sequel comes out, I will re-evaluate this score. If you like horror books that are not mainstream, please read this book. Having read the sequel, I am still not that impressed, though there are some horrific moments in the book. I am changing my "mainstream" thought to think maybe this is too mainstream for me and maybe that's why I don't particularly like it. I can totally see my wife liking these books so I stick with my THREE STARS for the sequel AFTER MIDNIGHT as well.
