81 Days Below Zero: The Incredible Survival Story of a World War II Pilot in Alaska's Frozen Wil
81 Days Below Zero: The Incredible Survival Story of a World War II Pilot in Alaska's Frozen Wilderness, by Brian Murphy, was received direct form the publisher in exchange for this review. I went into this book with high hopes and was not disappointed. The book starts out at Ladd Field, AK, which is now Ft Wainwright, where I spent two military tours. As the reader was led down the harrowing tale, I could vividly recall remember Alaskan winters and the days that when it reached -20F it was almost considered a warm day. If you like tales of flying aircraft, or of Alaskan winters when even the bears are not around, or tales of ingenuity and survival, get this book and get copies for your friends and family members.
