We Are Monsters, by Brian Kirk, was received direct from the publisher in exchange for this review. Once again I am going against the mainstream in that I did not “feel” this novel. Maybe it is because I am not a huge fan of “hospital horror,” or maybe because it was too long, there were too many instances of long drawn out conversations. That being said, the novel was interesting in its subject matter and I found myself asking “is this real or not?” for some scenes. If you like medical/hospital horror settings or fleshed out characters in horror, this is the book for you or to gift.
