Monsters Exist edited by Jesse Dedman and Theresa Braun was received direct from the publisher. Anthologies of horror are like a box of chocolates, in that you never know what you’re gonna get. The preface of this book actually explains it all. Authors write about modern day myths or legends, which sounds awesome, but maybe to my liking they could have stuck with the premise and not gone in some of the ways some authors did. I am fully aware that is my subjective opinion however.. The actuality was these stories were better than many in modern day anthologies. The length was just right, there was not enough time or space for the stories to get boring and I hope this editor has many more anthologies to work with.
